- The Horrorcons were to have been a cross-faction subgroup in the Universe war.
The Horrorcons are among the many Transformers caught up in the interdimensional war between the Children of Primus and the Minions of Unicron.
No, we don't know what makes a Horrorcon a Horrorcon.

Universe (2003)
In 2004, a group of test shots made their way onto eBay of four redecos of toys from the Beast Wars toyline. Later, Hasbro's official website checklist shortly featured listings for two Universe "Halloween Horrorcon Value Packs" that were to be Walmart exclusives. This seems to explain why they were canceled: Walmart had taken a good half-dozen exclusives and released them more-or-less simultaneously, leading to a huge glut. A lot of other Transformers exclusives were canceled during the Universe era as well.
- Leatherhide vs. Blackarachnia (Halloween Horrorcon value pack, unreleased)
- Accessories: Launcher, 4 leg-missiles
This two-pack would have contained a redeco of the original Tarantulas/Blackarachnia toy as Blackarachnia and a redeco of the Mutant Soundwave mold as Leatherhide. Blackarachnia would have been black with silver spider-legs and salmon-colored robot parts, while Leatherhide was to be blue with a yellow head and parts on his back.
- Nightprowler vs. Waspinator (Halloween Horrorcon value pack, unreleased)
- Accessories: Tail-gun, water-shooting gun, stinger-rifle
