2012 is the third year of the Transformers Hall of Fame. The automatically inducted Transformers characters for this year are Grimlock, Jazz, and Shockwave.

Nomination process

Running up until March 1, 2012, Transformers fan sites held individual polls to determine the nominees for the final ballot. The final fan-decided nominees, revealed on the Hasbro site on March 8, were:

Notes

  • As in past years, several of the bios combine facets of different incarnations of the characters. The Arcee and Wheeljack bios are particularly jarring in this case because they merge very different versions of the characters; in particular, there is far less of an attempt this year to swirl vague personality traits and points of convergence together as "Aligned" characters, instead filling the bios with references to very specific moments in the histories of the various different incompatible incarnations of the characters.
  • Arcee's bio mentions that she fought Shokaract, likely in an attempt to include the Beast Era/BotCon version of the character which was her first toy, but Arcee was introduced the year after Shokaract was defeated. Maybe she was just off-camera in J'nwan.
