- A Watchdog is a Decepticon from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Watchdog units are part of the Decepticon security net on Cybertron under Shockwave. These hovercars patrol the roads of Cybertron, going where the traditional Tetrajet cannot.
They operate in pairs.

When Spike, Wheeljack, Trailbreaker, Bumblebee, and Brawn peed off Shockwave, he sent the entire Decepticon contingent on Cybertron after them. With the help of Skyfire, they shook every pursuer—except the Watchdogs.
They eventually managed to evade the watchdogs by ducking into the hidden entrance to Wheeljack's lab. The Watchdogs continued past. The Ultimate Doom, Part 3
