The Autobots had organized Project Omega in the latter days of the Great War for the purpose of developing weapons of mass destruction to use against the Decepticons. The project successfully produced large, starship-sized Transformers called Omega Sentinels. The Omega Sentinels were deliberately given simple processors, enough to unhesitatingly carry out missions given to them by Autobot command.
