The Transformers: Regeneration One is a limited series published by IDW Publishing, set in the main Marvel Comics continuity. It is set 21 years after the events of issue #80 (the final issue of the Marvel series).
The series is written by Simon Furman, who also wrote the final 24 issues of the US Marvel series. Joining him is Andrew Wildman on pencils and Stephen Baskerville on inks.[1] John-Paul Bove[2] provides colors.
Issue #80.5 was given away as part of Free Comic Book Day on May 5, 2012, and the series proper is published monthly (staring with issue #81 in July) until issue #100.[3]

"Even way back in the day, there was never any question in my mind of either treating the robots just as robots -- they were characters, first and foremost, and getting readers to care about them and what happened to them was paramount to me -- or writing down to the kids who'd be reading the comic."Simon Furman
