Following the failure of his most recent plan for world conquest, the Decepticon emperor Devil Z stepped up his plans to phase two, summoning an army of Guardminders from the Decepticon forces operating in space. The Guardminders were put work constructing the atmosphere-destroying Death Para-Machine in the shadow of the Moon, and although they ran a little behind schedule, the cannon was soon ready for BlackZarak to fire. The Decepticon Godmasters and Headmaster Juniors joined BlackZarak and the Guardminders in space to observe the firing of the weapon, but they were pursued by the Autobots, who attempted to destroy the Death-Para Machine. The Guardminders leapt to the weapon’s defence, concentrating their fire on the Autobot Godmasters and Grand Maximus, and successfully kept the heroes away from it long enough for BlackZarak to unleash a blast of its deadly energy upon the Earth. The horrified Ginrai pressed his attack on the machine, dodging a volley of Guardminder fire and ploughing through the cannon with his God Fire Guts attack. As the Death Para-Machine exploded, the Guardminders and their leader joined the other Decepticons in retreating. Crisis! The Day of Human Extinction As they played no further role in the conflict on Earth, the Guardminders presumably rejoined the other Decepticons off in space.
