Battle Beneath the Ice

Dr Grey had been stationed in Antarctica for eight months before a drilling team at the Erebus oil fields reported the discovery of an underground city. He rushed there to assist in the excavation, leaving a note at Fossil Bluff Station for his son. While he and the drilling team were still trying to enter the city, Slingshot and Skydive arrived with the news that the plane his son was on had been shot down. Dr Grey bravely continued the work, and when the city was finally breached, they found that Jeff Grey and the other crash survivors had been rescued from the cold by the mysterious city-dwellers.

While the two Aerialbots went back outside to battle three Combaticons, Dr Grey joined the tour in progress and was astounded by the city dwellers' advanced technology. They were approached by Ravage, who revealed the city-dwellers weren't all they seemed—they were robots aiming to study the violent Transformers and use the knowledge to conquer the world. Once Jeff's plan to overwrite the Transformer battle footage with Saturday morning cartoons worked, Dr Grey used the city's radio to let the battling Transformers outside know what was happening and the battle ended.
