- The Iaconian Mechaforensic Division is an organization from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Iaconian Mechaforensic Division (I.M.D.) is a Cybertronian police organization that looks into criminal cases.
Fiction
IDW Generation 1 continuity
Prior to the Great War, Flatfoot of Polyhex Minor was the head of the organization. At the time, Prowl and Tumbler were attached to the division and were investigating a string of murders seemingly associated with the growing Decepticon movement. Flatfoot confirmed to the media that the murder of Senator Sherma and Momus was the result of two pro-functionist agitants that were trying to escape an I.M.D. investigation. This angered Prowl who claimed that his findings were only a preliminary report and wondered why Flatfoot publicly confirmed them.
