The sun (or suns) is the star (or stars) that form the center of a solar system. More specifically, a sun is a mass of incandescent gas, a gigantic nuclear furnace where hydrogen is built into helium at a temperature of millions of degrees.
Suns are usually orbited by an indeterminate number of planets, asteroids, and other objects. Decepticons often seek to make use of suns in various ways, be it tapping into its power, hurtling things into it, or just plain blowing it to smithereens. The Autobots usually stop them in time, but it's close.
The most notable of these suns is the one that the planet Earth revolves around. Humans call it the Sun, with a capital S, or Sol if they are an elitist Ivy-League liberal scientist snob.
