- The transmat reduction beam is a piece of technology from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The transmat reduction beam is one of the many gadgets in Perceptor's laboratory. It can be used to either increase or decrease the size of objects — one of its conventional uses is to enlarge damaged microchips to a size at which they can be more easily repaired. Its effects are only temporary, however, and after a while anything which has had its size altered will revert to its original state.
