The name or term "Caliburn" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Caliburn (disambiguation).
Caliburn is a Decepticon Micromaster from the 2001 Robots in Disguise continuity family (via the 2003 Universe series).
Micro-menial at your service!

Caliburn hails from an alternate Cybertron, one where the Autobots are all but extinct. He is a personal attendant of Megazarak, gleefully tagging along, picking off anything that survives Megazarak's onslaught.

He peppers his acts of destruction and cruelty with quips and gallows humor; he enjoys twisting the knife before delivering the killing blow. He relishes the death and destruction, and follows Megazarak's commands happily. Megazarak tolerates Caliburn's gab since the tiny terror's "lightning blaster" mode has incredible power, unleashing blasts of 60-kilovolt bursts of electricity.

Universe (2003)

Hi, I'm a Micromaster. Pay no attention to my Mini-Con faction symbol!
  • Megazarak w/ Caliburn (Ultra, 2004)
Caliburn is a redeco of the Armada Mini-Con Leader-1, transforming into a moon buggy with twin overhead blasters. Aside from his standard armored buggy mode, he has multiple "gun" configurations that allow him to be mounted on Powerlinx plugs or held in the hands of most Unicron Trilogy toys. He was available only with Megazarak, one of the exclusive toys from OTFCC 2004.
This mold is also used by Armada Clench, and is the basis for the similar new mold Cybertron Mini-Con Drill Bit. This toy was later repurposed as Beast Wars: Uprising Caliburn.

Notes

  • Caliburn went through many fictional changes before the final version was released. He was originally going to be a Nebulan Targetmaster contortionist, and had among his pre-production names "Vanquish" and "Destructicon".
  • The word "Caliburn" is an ancient name for the legendary sword Excalibur. Whether this relates to his character at all is unknown.
