Following Optimus Prime & Megatron's disappearings at the beginning of "The War Within 2: The Dark Ages", Autobots and Decepticons soon split into several sub-factions. The LSC, Lighting Strike Coalition, was formed by some of Grimlock's old unit when Optimus received the title of Prime and the Matrix of Leadership.
The LSC acted as a commando unit striking Predacon and Decepticon sites and convoys; when Ultra Magnus stepped in charge, the LSC members separated, but Grimlock put together the socalled Dynobots into an effective fighting force; so we could say that LSC survived and changed into Dinobot team, who followed a Decepticon group (the Insecticons) on Earth, after Ark's crashing on Earth but much before Earth bound Transformers woke up in early 80s; this story should have been read in a 2005 story titled "Rules of Extinction", inserted in Dreamwave's "Transformers Datatracks 2004", never released
