Of Masters and Mayhem
Spin-Out was the cook in a five hundred strong Autobot force but being the 49th highest ranking officer means you still become the commanding officer when forty eight other 'bots are dead! After a destructive, 17-cycle 'holding action', the Autobots technically won but Spin-Out was left depressed by the wreckage, the amount dead, and the fact people like Outback think he should feel proud he 'stepped up'. And he can't even sit in case it's on a corpse!
Things couldn't get worse.
Then his remaining men took a Decepticon called Toxitron prisoner... who turned out to be a walking acid spill who had intentially been 'captured'. Everybody died, including Spin-Out, and the cook's rotting head was later used to let Toxitron register as having an Autobot transponder.
So that's worse. The Toxic Transformer

*"Spinout" was the working name of Generation 1 Sunstreaker. The Of Masters and Mayhem incarnation of him is described as looking like Sunstreaker's red Diaclone predecessor.

This article is about the cannon fodder for Overlord. For the cannon fodder for Toxitron, see Spin-Out (Timelines).
Spin-Out is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.
OH bugger.

Spin-Out is a really unfortunate individual who transforms into some kind of futuristic car. He never learned to not turn his back on a Decepticon leader.

Fiction

IDW Generation 1 continuity

During Overlord's rule on Garrus-9, Spin-Out was one of the unlucky Autobots who were being used as a quarry for Decepticon hunts. He was caught and subdued by Wingblazer, but the Decepticon was reckless, which allowed Spin-Out to get a cheap shot in on the sadistic Decepticon. This did not sit well with Overlord, who promptly shot the upstart Autobot in the back, killing him.

After also dealing with Wingblazer and his buddy, Overlord ordered Spin-Out's body to be recycled. Last Stand of the Wreckers #1

Notes

 • IDW Spin-Out wasn't named in the story, but was named in the script.[1]
