Prion was one of the Titans created by the legendary Knights of Cybertron to act as a living ship. Partnered with Micronus Prime, Prion made planetfall on a barren world, overseeing the development of a new Transformer civilization until the disastrous arrival of the Black Block Consortia.

First Contact Prion settled on a planet far away from Cybertron, and the new Transformers birthed from Prion's hot spot developed into a civilization of "Mini-Cons". The peaceful colony met its end when the robo-phobic Black Block Consortia sterilized the planet, killing Prion and leaving no survivors but Nickel, who was found by the Decepticon Justice Division days after the attack. - James Roberts identified Nickel as a Mini-Con, suggesting that Prion might have had a connection to Micronus Prime like some of the other colony Titans. This was later confirmed in "White Heat".
- A prion is a protein-based infectious agent, somewhat similar to a virus.
