Fiction
IDW Generation 1 continuity
Millions of years ago, Prion and the other 12 colony Titans departed Cybertron to found new outposts of Cybertronian civilization. First Contact Prion settled on a planet far away from Cybertron, and the new Transformers birthed from Prion's hot spot developed into a civilization of "Mini-Cons". The peaceful colony met its end when the robo-phobic Black Block Consortia sterilized the planet, killing Prion and leaving no survivors but Nickel, who was found by the Decepticon Justice Division days after the attack. Nickel was known to swear by "Prion's shadow". The Permanent Revolution
Following his revival, Sentinel Prime brought his captive audience of Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and Sovereign to the wreckage of Prion, where Sentinel used it as a backdrop as he monologued about his plans for Optimus. White Heat
Notes
- James Roberts identified Nickel as a Mini-Con, suggesting that Prion might have had a connection to Micronus Prime like some of the other colony Titans. This was later confirmed in "White Heat".
- A prion is a protein-based infectious agent, somewhat similar to a virus.
