Buckethead is a Decepticon Constructicon from the Unicron Trilogy and Generation 1 continuity families (via the 2003 Universe toyline).
"Say I'm better than Slash or I'm taking your purse!"

Buckethead is one of the six Micromaster Constructicons who combine into Devastator, Buckethead forming the chest. She is Decepticon through and through.

Fiction

Ask Vector Prime

In Aurex 1104.30-DB Zeta (a highly Primax-influenced universe), Defensor, Rail Racer, and Superion were born from Dr. Brian Jones's attempts at reverse-engineering Maximus combiner technology and applying it to Mini-Con anatomy. However, the Decepticons stole the technology and created their own combiner, Devastator. Superion, Defensor, and Rail Racer fought Devastator in the Combiner Wars during the Unicron Singularity crisis. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/07/31

Toys

Universe (2003)

"Fine, have it. I'm keeping Megatron's nickname, though."
  • Buckethead (Micromaster, 2004)
    • Accessories: Devastator legs
A redeco of Gran Arm, Buckethead transforms into a front-end loader. She can form form the chest or back to any similar-construction Micromaster combiner robot, but her nominal position is as the chest of Constructicon Devastator.
A KB Toys exclusive, she and the other Micromaster Constructicons were also ultimately available from Sears during Christmastime, and Kmart's online store.
This mold was also used to make Micromaster Scrapper.

Energon

  • Buckethead (Micromaster, 2004)
    • Accessories: Devastator legs
The Micromaster Constructicons were sold in Europe under the Energon banner, presumably since Europe never actually got Universe. The toys are identical to the Universe versions.

Notes

  • It seems highly likely that Buckethead's name came about due to Hasbro's inability to secure the trademark for "Scrapper", as other members of the team use the names of the Generation 1 Constructicons who share their alternate mode.
  • Every bit of purple on Buckethead is paint. Her wheels are the only parts not cast in bright green plastic.
  • Buckethead wasn't established as female until 2016's "Cultural Appropriation" story retroactively revealed her gender.
