Petrex is a twin-mode town on Cybertron, located north of the Pancontinental Expressway and bordering Esserlon.
Fiction
IDW Generation 1 continuity
Before the war, Petrex was governed by functionists who believed a Cybertronian's altmode dictated their function and would throw you in prison if they caught you complaining about your assigned lot in life. Their strict rules taught Prowl, who was brought up in Petrex, to respect rules and discipline. Post Hoc The town was eventually liberated from functionism by Senator Crosscut. The Dead Are Not Enough At one point during the war, tensions escalated at the border between Petrex and Esserlon, prompting the Autobots to commission Operation: Doom Patrol and with it, Dipstick.
