Felix Adle

Felix Adle is a human from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Professor Felix Adle (アドル Adoru) is a military scientist who puts his mind to work developing new weapons for the benefit of the United States. Adle isn't a violent man by nature—he dearly loves his daughter, Katua, and recognizes and respects the nobility and humanity of the Autobots. He comes off as a little bit aloof and he's not averse to being a little bit deceptive, but he's got an ironic sense of humor, and he genuinely wants there to be peace in the world: it's just that he figures the best way to get it is by having a bigger gun than the other guy.

The Battle of the Star Gate

When an accidental explosion during a field test of one of the professor's inventions left both Adle and his daughter badly wounded, medical science could do nothing to help them, and Adle lost his right arm, while Katua lost her right leg. The advanced science of Cybertron held the key to their salvation, and Ratchet was able to provide them with prosthetics so advanced that they could feel pain and warmth through them as if they were their real limbs. The revelation that the Autobots truly understood such sensations and feelings and could replicate them proved their humanity to Adle, and he dedicated himself to working with them to find new ways to defend Earth against the Decepticons.

Around six months after the accident, Adle invited a small group of Autobots to participate in the test run of C-X, a huge battle drone that he had invented through a combination of Earth and Cybertronian technology and cast in the image of Optimus Prime. The formal alliance of the Autobots with the United States government had just recently been announced, and protestors opposing the Autobots' military presence flocked to the test site to make their voices heard. Bumblebee, in particular, was quite irked by the protestors, and Adle shared his opinion, revealing that he had actually leaked information about the test to the public, so that they could see for themselves how dedicated the Autobots were to helping mankind. Unfortunately, the protestors wound up seeing the worst side of the Transformers when C-X ran amok during the test and Optimus Prime was forced to used extreme, brutal force to take the rampaging robot down. The protestors accused the Autobots of being nothing more than monsters, at which point Katua Adle appeared and revealed her bionic leg to the crowd, explaining how the Autobots were living beings that could truly feel. Over the course of the next few months, Adle used the information gained during the test of C-X to perfect the robot's design, and had four of the drones built. When the Decepticons launched their second attack against the Trigger space station, Adle deployed the four C-Xes to back up the Autobots, but they ran out of control once again.
