Eons ago, the planet of Prysmos, a planet where magic ruled over science, was destroyed. The only known survivor, a powerful wizard known as Merklynn, somehow found his way to Earth, and disguised himself as "Garrison Kreiger."

In the modern day, Merklynn would join Baron Ironblood's Iron Ring in a bid to use the alien Talisman on the core of Cybertron itself in the hopes of transforming the mechanical world into a reborn copy of his homeworld. His plan was only partially successful, transforming only a small portion of the planet into the city of "New Prysmos." First Strike #6
