Primitives is a term used in G1 to refer to all animal transformers.

The term Primitives was first used in the episode Call Of The Primitives by Primacron's assistant to describe the animal transformers. According to the assistant, the early transformers were all primitives, which later developed into the modern Cybertronians. In general, Primitives seem more savage and instictual then other transformers, and many have greater physical strength as well
