Charlie Chopper was one of the first "mega class" figures released under the 1-2-3 Transformers line (2001), transforming from a robot to an orange and white rescue helicopter.

Charlie Chopper has two accessories, a rescue shield and a life preserver ring.

The main gimmicks of the 1-2-3 Transformers line are simplistic transformations and electronic sounds (and lights, in the case of Rescue Roy).

By pushing down on a button on the robot's chest/helicopter's cockpit, Charlie Chopper can say a combination of random 2-part phrases while in robot mode (for example, "Leapin' lifters, you're a great wingman!", "Leapin lifters, let's go to chopper mode!", "Twistin' turbines, let's go to chopper mode!", etc.), while a separate set of fixed (non-random) sound effects (helicopter sounds)/phrases ("Let's go to robot mode!", "Chief, we're ready for airlift, over." , and "Ten-four, buddy. We got the sky covered! Over.") are used while in chopper mode, in that order.

In 2002, a repaint of Charlier Chopper named Airlift Andy was released.

In 2003, Charlie Chopper was slightly redecoed and released as part of the Japanese "Rescue Hero Go-Bots" line, as Chopper.
