In response to Megatron's defeat, Cryotek struck out on his own. Like Megatron, he sought mechanical purity, but in his own way. Cryotek believed that sparks were not the life essences of Transformers, but rather symbiotic leech-like parasites (his beliefs influenced by his own mutated, humanoid-shaped spark). Cryotek planned to eliminate all sparks from Transformers' bodies, replacing them with physical operating systems which he had created, based partially on Megatron's research. Cryotek knew to be cautious in dealing with those who had vanquished Megatron, and settled for a time on using hit-and-run tactics. Needing allies, he contacted Galvatron—then active on early 21st century Earth—who offered him refuge aboard his ship, the Megastar, in exchange for a body upgrade. Cryotek thus altered the Predacon leader into "Megatron Megabolt". Meanwhile in the future, Optimus Primal found the victims of Cryotek's horrendous experiments and resolved to stop him by any means necessary. Having realized that there was a greater power was behind the Oracle, Primal demanded said power send him after Cryotek; the Alternity revealed themselves to Primal and agreed to his request in exchange for him joining ranks of their elite agents, the Protectors. Primal accepted the offer, and the Alternity sent him to 21st century Earth with Mirage GT as a guide. Due to the risk of paradoxes, Primal could only assume a corporeal form to engage with Cryotek; Primal could only act as a spirit guide to assist Optimus Prime against the threat posed by Megabolt Maximus—the Megatron-controlled Fortress Maximus. In the end, Prime and Primal emerged victorious, decisively defeating Megatron and Cryotek. Ask Vector Prime#Facebook

As a result of the temporal machinations of Ravage in Primax 785.06 Alpha and the Alternity's repairs to history, a quantum duplicate of the shuttle carrying the victorious Maximals home from the Beast Wars of Primax 496.22 Alpha was created, ending up in Primax 903.0 Beta. Unicron observed the shuttle and destroyed it, scattering its crew into transwarp space.

Megatron thus escaped Maximal custody, ending up in Viron 102.0 Beta. He schemed to conquer this reality's Cybertron, joining forces with Cryotek, a native Predacon, to better learn about the new world he found himself in. As with his counterparts in many Primax realities, Megatron captured the sparks of Cybertron's populace and converted their bodies into Vehicons. The Alternity shepherded the similarly "shipwrecked" Optimus Primal, Rhinox, Rattrap, and Silverbolt to this dimension to battle Megatron, activating the Oracle to guide them. They fought the resulting "Allspark Battles" against Megatron's Vehicon hordes, with Optimus Primal eventually upgrading into an "Air Attack" form to counter "Megahead Megatron"; the Maximals would prove triumphant.

Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/30

While in the past, Mirage GT joined the Elite Guard, an elite spaceborne Autobot force led by Storm Jet which combated extraordinary threats to Cybertron. Among other things, the Elite Guard dealt with the Metabeasts of Zeotopia, the Intruder Empire, the Elder Gods in the Dark Nebula, and Jhiaxus's Destructicons in the Mirtonian Expanse.
