Power bond

Power bonds are a from the Beast Era portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Used to house captives, power bonds are restraining devices used by both the Maximals and Predacons. They release some form of energy which restrains a Transformer.

Fiction

Beast Wars

Power bonds were used by Ravage when he held Megatron prisoner. When he instructed his ship's computer to release Megatron the power bonds seemed to fade away, deactivating. The Agenda (Part 2)

After the end of the Beast Wars, Megatron was strapped to the hull of Autobot Shuttle Omega Delta using power bonds for the ride back to Cybertron. Nemesis Part 2

Beast Machines

When they were inadvertently rendered unconscious and captured after a scuffle with the first three Vehicon generals due to Rattrap's unauthorized use of a transformation enhancer, Optimus, Cheetor and Blackarachnia were taken with him to the Council Citadel and held captive restrained in power bonds before Megatron himself while still in their beast modes. However, Rattrap's constant transformation spasms due to the enhancer's effects allowed him to break free of his bindings and release his fellow Maximals. Mercenary Pursuits

While exploring Tankor's memories, Rattrap, who believed he was viewing his own saw that Megatron managed to rip free of his power bonds during transwarp causing him to return to Cybertron prematurely, take over the planet with the Vehicons and steal the sparks of all the Cybertronians that came or were already there. Revelations Part II: Descent Nice job, whoever tied him down.

After Rhinox's failed attempt to destroy Megatron with the Key to Vector Sigma due to implants in his shell programming, he was held by power bonds until his untimely destruction.
