- Nova Point is a building on Cybertron from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Nova Point, also known as Nova Peak, is a chromium and tungsten edifice in Iacon towering high above the rest of Cybertron's landscape. What exactly it is used for is unstated, but it probably is a building of political importance. It has an observation bay that provides a great view on both Cybertron below and the stars above.
Its top is apparently a good place to go if you're wishy-washy and depressed, while the mines below are for if you're planning to overthrow the existing order.

Another Time & Place

Optimus Prime was angsting about the future at the observation bay when Prowl approached him with information that the Dinobots had left Cybertron and were heading for Hydrus Four. Confirmed in his worries, Optimus Prime reacted with apathy, not ready yet to acknowledge what trouble lay ahead. Prowl reminded him the threat the remaining Decepticons could pose in these events, then angrily departed to leave a seemingly passive Optimus to his stargazing. Another Time & Place
Regeneration One

Optimus Prime was angsting about the future at the observation bay when Kup and Ultra Magnus approached him with information that after 21 years of apparent peace the Decepticons had started to agitate for violence again. When asked for permission to send in the Wreckers to neutralize this threat, Optimus Prime reacted with apathy, not ready yet to acknowledge what trouble lay ahead. His subordinates tried to get him to reconsider, but Prime then instructed them to depart. Then Soundwave interrupted the seemingly passive Optimus' stargazing by seizing control of an orbital defense platform and using it to kill the Last Autobot. Counterpoint
Prime remained at Nova Point and was once again visited there by Ultra Magnus, Kup and Hot Rod. As he and Magnus discussed the Wreckers taking action against the Neo-Decepticons at the Pax Cybertronia Decommissioning Depot, Prime was struck by a vision of Unicron. Dissatisfied with Prime's leadership, Kup stormed off to lead the Wreckers to Earth. Loose Ends, Part 1
After he took over as Autobot leader, Rodimus Prime met privately with Jhiaxus at Nova Point. When the former senator revealed his faction's widespread slaughter of organic life, the meeting soon turned violent and the buildings atop its peak were damaged in the fighting. Notes
- It is no coincidence that the two scenes featuring Optimus at Nova Point are very similar, since they were both written by Simon Furman whose task with the later storyline was effectively to replace the former.
