m "The D.O.C." is a rapper who nerds are likely to be familiar with, as his song "Whirlwind Pyramid" was featured in Tony Hawk's Underground 2. Adding a line from that song as a caption to a previously captioned picture of D.0.C. seemed appropriate.

The name or term "Doc" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Doc (disambiguation).
D.0.C. is an Autobot drone from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The offspring of R2-D2 and T-Bob.

D.0.C. is a small hovering drone created by Jetfire. He communicates by various beeps which only Jetfire (and perhaps Cosmos) seems to understand. Named for the type of memory system he uses, a Dynamic Zero-Phase Chalcogenide unit, he is usually seen accompanying Jetfire and carrying out his master's orders. While Jetfire values him exclusively for technical assistance, D.0.C. is treated by Cosmos and some others as a friend, rather than a sparkless automaton. This distinction does not go unnoticed, and D.0.C. is always eager to help those who hold him in such esteem.

IDW Generation 1 continuity

The D-O-C, with some help from my boy T-E-E, is now operating smoothly!

D.0.C. was on board the Ark-7 for its journey to Earth following Shockwave's attempt to end the Universe. As Optimus Prime's team clashed with Galvatron on the planet, D.0.C. found Jetfire was busy looking for a way to fight some human-built micro-bots. As the pair was preparing to eradicate the threat, they found the Constructicons had already taken care of the problem. Detonation Boulevard As Optimus's team returned to the ship, Jetfire and D.0.C. greeted them with the news that they'd tracked the source of the humans' "mind bomb" to the Marshall Islands. The Mind Bomb While Jazz infiltrated the EDC's Marshall Island base, D.0.C. and Jetfire joined the other Autobots in storming the beach Full Fathom Five They found themselves facing a Decepticon warship, causing D.0.C. to warn that they weren't going to be able to hold it off for long. Then the final phases of Prowl's plan came into play, the warship came crashing down, and the Autobots successfully made off with Alpha Trion. I Dream of Wires

Jetfire, Arcee, and D.0.C. rushed to the shuttlebay when the alarm was triggered, only to find it was just Optimus and Alpha Trion leaving for a jaunt in the Skyroller. The Crucible Once they'd returned, Jetfire and D.0.C. continued to care for Trion, noting with disapproval that the sudden trip hadn't exactly improved his condition. Signals, Calls, and Marches As Jetfire looked over a stolen Onyx datapad D.0.C. hovered over his shoulder and made banter with Cosmos. Now and On Earth When Cosmos returned from a mission he plopped down on his recharge berth and D.0.C. snuggled up against his legs. South of Heaven D.0.C. tracked the signal of the Onyx products to the Antarctic and went with Jetfire, Kup, Sky Lynx and Jazz. They got beat into stasis by massive Thrust/Ramjet combiners that G.B. Blackrock had made using the Enigma of Combination. The Autobots were carted off but D.0.C. escaped The Nothing Man and tracked the Autobots to the Earth Defense Command's secret base and found himself face to face with Buster. Lagrange

Cuz the BUSTAH kept me outta handcuffs!

D.0.C. tried to get rid of Buster but the pair were found by Thundercracker though D.0.C. couldn't be sure if it was him or Skywarp. It was ultimately irrelevant as the Seeker proved too unintelligent to be of use. Buster led D.0.C. to a canteen where he was able to hack into the system and determine his friends were held in a secret room. Due to Buster distracting Faireborn and Jones D.0.C. managed to slip away but was snagged a drone maintenance truck. He managed to escape due to Buster's help and the two fled down a ventilation shaft and below the secret room. Buster began barking frantically as the drone cut which D.0.C. realized (after the cut had been made) that Buster needed to breath. He flew the two up into the room were they found the Autobots. At Jetfire's orders he cut them all free. The Autobots were ready to tear up tear the EDC apart for their capture before D.0.C. and Buster explained the situation causing all to realize Blackrock was the true mastermind. The combined force confronted him in Spike Witwicky's cell and overpowered him only for Galvatron and Skywarp to teleport in with the former claiming Blackrock was a sleeper agent of Onyx Prime. Helden After his ordeal, D.0.C. recuperated with Jetfire and Buster while the Autobots and E.D.C. made plans to oppose Galvatron. Perihelion Once Upon a Time on Earth

Following Prime's annexation of Earth into the Council of Worlds, D.0.C. joined the Autobots and their allies aboard the Skyroller. Edge of the Earth Back at the temporary Autobot base in Monument Valley, he watched as Optimus Prime coordinated a joint operation on Galvatron's underwater base of operations. They were interrupted by the EDC and the People's Liberation Army Mecha Force, who launched an airstrike on their position. D.0.C. helped get Buster to safety, It's Beginning To And Back Again but was cornered by a Chinese mech. At the last moment, Optimus managed to scare off the humans by awakening the dormant Metrotitan. As Above...So Below

Some time later, D.0.C. was hanging out near the space bridge in the newly-christened Autobot City when Sentinel Prime appeared and blasted Aileron. The Last Autobot Revealing himself as a Titan Master, D.0.C. and Bob grappled with Sentinel's headless transtector body but were unable to bring it down. Sentinel soon fled Earth taking Optimus and Soundwave with him, and D.0.C. helped tend to the injured Aileron in the Titan's medical bay. White Light D.0.C. was present when the two returned from the abandoned colony of Prion. White Heat

A few months later, D.0.C. had joined up with Thundercracker; together with Bob and Buster, the quartet helped to evacuate a burning building in Pittsburgh. An urgent mission from Marissa took them to Washington, D.C., where they discovered that the White House and its assets had been coopted by a new threat: the malicious Dire Wraiths. D.0.C. helped pin down several Seeker clones so that Thundercracker could fry them with his jet engines, and later served as an impromptu bodyguard for the President of the United States. Thundercracker & Buster Save the World

With Autobot City now airborne, D.0.C. served aboard the flying vessel as it patrolled Earth. He accompanied Pyra Magna when she reported the approach of an inbound Junkion ship. To Walk Among the Chosen He later helped tend to the comatose Sideswipe, providing a sympathetic ear to Arcee's musings. A Lonely Pillar on the Plain He later served as a sparring partner for the female Autobot. Dance Among the Shadows When the Junkions later turned a neutral summit into a battleground by unleashing a horde of Sharkticons on the assembled delegates, D.0.C. helped evacuate the wounded by loading Sideswipe's stasis pod onto Sky Lynx.
