600,000 years ago, Shockwave launched thirteen rockets loaded with energon ore, one of which seeded Ore-7 upon an unknown world, where it developed its powers of "change". The Crucible
During his journey through space, Metroplex picked up a sample of Ore-7. When confronted with an army of Ammonites seeking to reclaim the ore, the Titan infused Ore-7 into part of his thumb and jettisoned it into space. The Ammonites tried to kill him using Ore-2, The Becoming infecting Metroplex with an alchemical virus and sending him into hiding beneath the oceans of Hydrophena. Burning Bright
