Marvel UK produced a G1 comic which ran for over 300 issues, published (mostly) every week. These issues used a larger, magazine-sized format, compared the the traditional size for modern US comic books. They contained roughly half the number of pages of the US version.
Almost all of the stories published in the Marvel US comic were reprinted in the UK version, although often with small editing changes. Usually these changes were not very significant, but occasionally the UK comic would diverge from the US comic in a fairly major way. For example, due to the fact that the Marvel GI Joe crossover, which featured Bumblebee's destruction and subsequent restoration as Goldbug, was not reprinted in the UK comic at the same time, the UK comic had Bumblebee destroyed by Galvatron, and rebuilt into his Goldbug form by Wreck-Gar.
Due to the small page count of the UK magazine, it would generally take two issues to complete a story that had been written to fit one US issue. This occasionally resulted in some confusing story breaks, where readers would have to wait until the following week to see how a story concluded.
Most UK-specific stories were written by Simon Furman, who later was assigned to write for the US comic, as well.
