Dr. Raymond Stantz is a scientist and founding member of the Ghostbusters. The heart of the team, he has an almost childlike enthusiasm for the paranormal and relishes in every new discovery. He co-designed the Ghostbusters' various gadgets and equipment alongside Egon Spengler.

- One of Susan Hoffman's assistants in "Race with the Devil" was drawn to resemble Ray's appearance in The Real Ghostbusters.
- In both The Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters, Ray was voiced by Frank Welker.
