Galvatron returns as... Megatron?

Synopsis

In 2011, the shared Autobot and Decepticon forces under the leadership of Optimus Prime and Galvatron are fighting against Unicron, who seeks to resurrect using the bodies of his disciples before the Transformers can seal him within the Triple Z Point. Galvatron bids Optimus Prime to use the Matrix of Leadership, but it's been spent since being used to eradicate the Hate Plague and is currently recharging on Earth. Optimus wishes he had another Matrix in hand... and then suddenly the two leaders are summoned before Primus. The god entrusts Optimus Prime with the Silver Matrix, filled with the power of stars.

In the present time on a strange planet, Optimus Prime is at the mercy of King Poseidon, who seeks to use the Silver Matrix to surpass God Ginrai, but their confrontation is interrupted by... Megatron? "Super Megatron" reveals he has used the power of stars to attain a form like his future self and laid waste to Halfshell's crew before blowing up the photon sailer with them on board. Angry at the apparent end of his "brother", King Poseidon leaps to the attack with his "Full Target Mode", but Super Megatron simply repels it with a force field and repays the favor by blowing up the combiner with his "Super Jet Mode".

(Numbers indicate order of appearance.)

Notes

  • Among Unicron's disciples are the United Ark Unicron toy and the Dark Egg Beasts. The body Unicron is attempting to construct from them is based on the then-yet-unreleased War for Cybertron Unicron toy.
  • In the 2011 flashback, Bumblebee appears in his Pretender shell, indicating an untold story where he changed forms, as his appearances as Goldbug occur before and after this story. A continuity fix for Bumblebee's appearance in "Controverse", perhaps?
  • This comic was revised shortly after it was uploaded online. The first and second panels of the original comic are shaped differently, with Raiden, the dead Seeker, Tigertrack, and Computron not in the original version.
