- The Masterforce War is a war from the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Masterforce War (マスターフォース戦争 Masterforce Sensō),[1] also known as the Devil War (デビルウォー),[2] is the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons focusing on the Godmasters and Devil Z's attempts at harnessing their power to conquer the universe. The war spans a period between the re-awakening of the Decepticon Pretenders and the defeat of Devil Z.

- The year of the Masterforce War was never established in contemporary media, only known to be after The Headmasters in 2011 and before Victory in 2025. Decades after the fact, a Generations Selects Special Comic by continuity aficionado Hayato Sakamoto laid down that Masterforce took place in 2020.
