The Protection Team is an Autobot subgroup from the 2001 Robots in Disguise continuity family.

The Protection Team specializes in rescuing and protecting, though all but one of its members were killed by Megazarak.

  • The naming scheme is probably a homage to Energon, where the expies for the "teams" (if the components even alive) that make up the Maximus-combiners are called the Construction Team, Destruction Team and Air Team, instead of the more traditional "Constructicons", "Combaticons" and "Aerialbots", respectively. It could also be in line with RID's own Build Team.
