Flip Racers is a subline of toys under the Rescue Bots franchise. Introduced in 2017, the small figures recall the Bots Shots line of of auto-transforming figures with the main difference being Flip Racers are exclusive to the Rescue Bots cast.
Overview
Aside from the previously mentioned Bot Shots as inspiration, Rescue Bots featured a very brief subline called Flip Changers that were larger figures motorized to roll after pulling a handle and then auto-transform into robot mode. Only two figures were made (Chase and Heatwave) and they were around $20 a pop retail. Wisely, Hasbro kept the design, ditched the motor and scaled the figures down to allow a better price point and selection as Flip Racers.
Selections started in packs of three before later releasing the Racers as individuals. Launchers and larger playsets were also available, often featuring unique repaints of earlier figures.
