Blue Planet is a world orbiting a distant star. Though colder than Earth, it is capable of supporting Earth-originated life, and ruins scattered around suggest intelligent life once existed there. It's currently inhabited by robotic wolves, giant robot centipedes and a small band of displaced humans. It has a rotational period of fifteen hours.

Following an incident with a Cybertronian device, Duane Bowman and his squad were transported to an alien world which they dubbed "Blue Planet" because that was the color of the light from its sun. With limited ammo and provisions, they set up camp and prepared to fight off the native lupine lifeforms. Battle Mountain

Duane and his men soon ran out of ammo, but they still managed to kill two of the wolves. On discovering the wolves were robotic, Duane believed they were Cybertronian. During another encounter with wolves, the team was only saved by the blind intervention of a giant robot centipede. Their search eventually turned up a cylinder identical to the one which had transported them to Blue Planet. A short time after the discovery, Kevin Bowman was likewise brought to Blue Planet and was able to use the cylinder to return them all to Earth, just as more of the centipedes were closing in.
