Powertrain is an Autobot Micromaster in the Generation 1 continuity family.
Jack Kirby has a lot to answer for.

Powertrain is the leader of the Off Road Patrol, and he's a by-the-book commander, so long as the book is entirely optional. Highjump thinks he isn't hard enough on Mudslinger . . . which says more about Highjump than anyone else.[1]
