Tarn became a judge in the wake of Ego's death, and enjoyed calling out sub-par transformations as part of his judging. Other judges included Rosanna, who was known for her peppy attitude; Escargon, whose switching of the contestants' genders was a favorite of audiences; and Greasepit.
Notable contestants include Stakeout, who dazzled audiences with the power of Power Core Combination with the help of his Protectobot drones; Sideways, where he is double-Headmaster Combi-Micromaster companions Rook and Crosswise gave him an edge; Quickswitch, who was following in his father Sixshot's footsteps and had a healthy fanbase thanks to hailing from the Primax cluster; and Backfire, whose the ability to easily scan new forms gave him an advantage in the competition.
