| When you've absolutely, positively got to be somewhere ''right away'', '''dimension gates''' are the way to travel. Where the more mundane [[space bridge]] requires a bit of time and effort on a traveler's part, requiring them to traverse a pathway through [[unspace|interdimensional space]] under their own power, a dimension gate is a literal hole in space/time—step through, and you're at your destination immediately, like passing through a door. Not just anybody can cook up one of these bad boys, though: only those with the power of [[Primus]] or [[Unicron]] at their fingertips can part the dimensional divide in this manner, required to stabilize the portals so the dimensional crossing does not adversely affect a voyager's mind.
