You can reach the other side of the rainbow

Before the war, Sonic and Boom were a pair of thugs paid to lessen the number of addicts and drifters littering the Dead End. At one point they ran into a circuit-fried Drift and began to beat him up for fun and profit, but were spotted by police officer Orion Pax who defeated and arrested the both of them. Post Hoc

Four million years later, after becoming Decepticons, Sonic and Boom were paid by Pharma to surrender themselves to Delphi and claim to be Monoformers with a branched spark. Once locked up together, they transformed, combined into their audio equipment alternate form and released a "sound bomb" designed by Pharma to corrode those who heard it the next time they transformed. Once other Autobots arrived to investigate this "Red Rust" outbreak, Pharma released the two Genericons to take care of them. Sonic and Boom cornered the Autobots, claiming they wanted revenge for being in Autobot custody for so long, only to be faced with the sudden resurrection of Fortress Maximus who brutally slaughtered them.
