As Unicron attacked and consumed Cybertron, Shockwave teleported to Earth with his Maximals and arrived in Toronto. Intending to remake the planet into the new seat of his Cybertronian empire, he and his Maximals invaded the city, Road's End rebuilding the CN Tower into a jury-rigged communications hub from which Shockwave could coordinate his conquest of Earth.

As part of a do or die plan to save the universe, G.I. Joe, Cobra, and Stardrive attacked the Maximals purifying the city so Prowl could sneak past and ambush Shockwave. Assembly As Unicron advanced on Earth, the city became the site of all-out war as their combined forces battled the monstrous Transformers. Ceremony
