Hovering like a vast predatory brick.

The flying mountain hovers high in the air, along with a loose collection of rock caught in whatever weird energy field keeps the thing in the air. At the very top of the mountain is a cache of huge energon crystals, capable of super-charging a Transformer, and which Rhinox believes is responsible for its airborne state.

Beast Wars cartoon

The flying mountain was casually floating over a jungle, minding its own business, when Terrorsaur, out catching a snack, happened to stumble on it. After transforming to robot mode to test the energon's stability, the Predacon received a huge dose of power. Like any good devious traitor, he immediately zoomed off to overthrow Megatron. Fortunately Cheetor had also spotted the mountain and witnessed its strange effects on Terrorsaur, and was able to run back to the Axalon to warn the other Maximals.

Not long after, the effects of the super energon began to wear off, and Terrorsaur returned to the mountain to recharge. Unfortunately for him, he was tailed by Tarantulas. Also arriving at the mountain were Optimus Primal and Rattrap, who aimed to destroy a potential Predacon power source. Despite some interference from Tarantulas, Rattrap was able to plant enough explosives to destroy the mountain. Power Surge

When the Predacons sought to increase their energon reserves, Terrorsaur and Waspinator, they flew to the mountain to harvest the energon crystals. Pod Part 1

When the Maximals attacked the Darksyde, Terrosaur airlifted Razorbeast to the nearby mountain, dropping him with enough force to detonate the largest energon crystal. Maximals Strike Back, Part 2

Notes

  • Although only featured for one episode of the cartoon, the flying mountain appears repetitively throughout Beast Wars Pt.3: Paint with Water, a children's coloring book.
