Honorable warrior? Cackling nutjob? Guy who, uh, growls a lot? Well, whatever the hell Carnivac is, he carries an anti-thermal cannon. It slows down molecular motion, freezing its targets.

Marvel The Transformers comics
While pursuing the humans Cliff Dietz and Spike Witwicky through a ski resort, Snarler fired an explosive shell at them, but missed. Carnivac then fired a "freeze beam" at them, but it was blocked by a tree. The Man in the Machine!
