- The Energon axe is a weapon from the Generation One continuity family.

The Energon axe is the cool, kick-ass weapon used by Optimus Prime whenever he can't seem to find his ion blaster. He retracts his hand, and then the axe replaces it. For all its awesomeness, he only seem when he and Megatron are fighting on a particular dam. Despite that, it was very memorable ability, so much so that one of the Optimus Prime toys was remodeled so its hand could be replaced with the axe.
