Turkey is a country linking southern Europe to western Asia. Its capital is Istanbul.

Fiction

The Transformers cartoon

Millions of years ago a Cybertronian weather-controlling machine crashed on Earth, landing in Asia. When humans dug it up in the 14th century and exposed it to Earth's atmosphere, the machine's power core caused weather disasters, so a Persian seer had it encased in a protective gold and bejeweled shell, then buried this newly-dubbed "Pearl of Bahoudin" in the Galata Valley next to the Alibey River. In 1985, the Autobots joined the Europa 2000 race from France to Turkey. Megatron anticipated their arrival in Turkey, and muscled the expertise out of both Abdul Ben-F'aisal and Professor Teranova in order to find and extract the Pearl. He attempted to use its weather-control powers against the Autobots, but failed. Trans-Europe Express

Notes

  • In 2022, the Republic of Turkey officially rebranded their English name to the Turkish endonym Türkiye, though this has yet to be reflected in any Transformers fiction.
