- The Senate Guard is an organization from the 2019 IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Senate Guard are the protectors of democracy (or rampant stagnation, depending on who you ask), guarding the members of the Senate when they convene. While nominally an experienced team of Cybertronian warriors, considering it's been millennia since the Senate was threatened, they might find themselves unprepared for a true uprising.
After the fall of the Senate and the ascension of Optimus Prime, the Senate Guard was rechristened the Prime Guard and dedicated themselves to protecting the last vestige of the old government... Optimus Prime himself.

To that end, the now-Prime Guard accompanied the new Autobot leader to the Forge Pyramid to meet with Perceptor. The Decepticons launched an attack on the facility, and the Guard aided in fending them off long enough for the Autobots to escape. Titans

Scattershot called upon five Prime Guard volunteers to help buy the Autobots more time to escape the planet. The energies of the Combination Core within Scattershot reached out and enabled Pipes, Backstreet, Groove, Flareup, and Javelin to merge with the Technobots into an enlarged ten-strong Computron. This new super-combiner took on the entire Decepticon army, overpowering Devastator and allowing the bulk of the Autobots to blast off from Darkmount safely, but was ultimately defeated and disassembled. Those that made up Computron were captured but prided themselves on accomplishing their goal. With only Ironhide, Brawn, Grotusque, and Subsea remaining free, Bumper ventured that he, Sideswipe, and Strongarm could offer their services to Ironhide as the spaceborne Autobots headed to their new temporary home, the Winged Moon.
