Runamuck wielded a friction rifle that shot a beam which dramatically increased the kinetic energy of the molecules of any target it hit. This meant that even the slightest movement of the target produced a tremendous increase in the friction between its molecules and air molecules or anything else it touched, causing flammable objects to burst into flames and melting some metals.
