- Defensor is an Autobot from the Shell Game portion of the Robots in Disguise continuity family (via the 2003 Universe franchise).

After millions of Autobots were killed in Megazarak's war of conquest, the ex-commander Hot Spot was forced to become a Matrix bearer. Now known as Defensor, he is the leader of the few Autobots—the very few—who remain. In fact, there is only one Autobot who remains under his command whose name is known: Ultra Trion. He is now the focal point of Megazarak's obsession to destroy all of the Autobots of his Cybertron.
Needless to say, he needs more help.

Shell Game continuity
In Viron 704.31 Epsilon, Hot Spot's Protection Team was killed by Megazarak. Hot Spot was the only survivor; although he still possessed the ability to combine, he had no teammates with which to do so. When Ultra Trion passed the Matrix onto him, he received new armor which gave him the abilities of his fallen comrades. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/07 Now Defensor, he attempted to save the minds of the components of the brainwashed Dominus Trannis; however, they were too far gone, and Defensor was forced to destroy them. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/07/28 His quest to defeat Megazarak was long and painful, but Defensor triumphed after using Megazarak's own dark essence to create the Chaos Armor. During his final confrontation with Megazarak, Sky-Byte, Dark Scream, Gas Skunk, and Slapper came to his aid; Ask Vector Prime, 2015/07/30 Defensor emerged victorious over the monstrous warlord. In the aftermath, Defensor began to rebuild Cybertron and rally survivors, but before he could complete this task he was granted a vision by the Matrix of another Megazarak, one intent on spreading mayhem throughout the multiverse. Defensor knew that it was his responsibility to travel across the dimensions and put a stop to this new menace. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/07
Toys
Universe (2003)

- Defensor (
OTFCC 2005)
- Planned as the larger exclusive toy for OTFCC 2004, the Universe Defensor figure was to be a retool of 2001 Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime, the central (or smaller) robot being called "Hot Spot" (for obvious reasons). The super mode's head was planned to be retooled, and the colors would have homaged the original Defensor's.
- Sadly, his release was pushed back to OTFCC 2005, which never happened, as 3H Productions lost the convention license to Fun Publications.

- Midnight Shield Defensor (
OTFCC 2005)
- In order to offset the costs of producing such a large toy, a variant black deco was planned to be offered separately. It didn't happen either!
Notes
- The name of the "Chaos Armor" comes from Defensor's black repaint being made with Chaos Black paint.[1]
- That other Megazarak is the one from Viron 403.0 Beta whose actions resulted in Universe Nemesis Prime, thus making Defensor a nemesis to both of the established Viron Megazaraks. Better hope fans don't make up a third one or play with the Aurex one or poor Deffy's never gonna rest!
