Jonathan Kimble Simmons (born January 9, 1955) is an American actor. He is best known for his performance as J. Jonah Jameson in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy, a role so universally beloved, he was brought back to reprise the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Other well-known roles of his include his Oscar-winning performance as Terence Fletcher in Whiplash, Vernon Schillinger on Oz, B.R in Thank You for Smoking, Mac MacGuff in Juno, Commissioner James Gordon in Justice League, Will Pope on The Closer, Dr. Emil Skoda on Law & Order, Bill in La La Land, the CIA Director in Burn After Reading, Ivo Shandor in Ghostbusters: Afterlife and his recurring appearances in the Farmers Insurance commercials.
