After millions of Autobots were killed in Megazarak's war of conquest, Defensor became a Matrix-bearer and the leader of the few—the very few—who remained. In fact, there is only one Autobot who remains under his command whose name is known: Ultra Trion. Needless to say, he needs more help.
He has no known relation to the other Defensor involved in the multiversal war.

- Planned as the larger exclusive toy for OTFCC 2004, the Defensor figure was going to be a retool of Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime, the central (or smaller) robot being called "Hot Spot" (for obvious reasons). The super mode's head was planned to be retooled, and the colors would have homaged the original Defensor's.
