Revision as of 07:37, 9 December 2023

This article is about the G1 Autobot also known as "Groundbuster". For Robots in Disguise Decepticon "Groundbuster", see Groundpounder (RID).
Neutro is an Autobot Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Neutro reaches out to adjust the vertical.

Neutro (also Groundbuster) is the hardest-working member of the Construction Patrol. He accepts the destruction of war with stoicism. He secretly longs for the fighting to be over so he can return to his true vocation: interpretive sculpture.[1]

Toys

The Transformers

The most astounding super hero of all!
  • Construction Patrol (Micromaster Patrol, 1990)
  • Takara name: Build Patrol Team
  • Takara ID number: C-351
Released in the seventh (and final) year of Hasbro's US Transformers toyline (sixth and not-final year in European markets), Neutro transforms into a mainly yellow bulldozer of udetermined, possibly-made-up model. He is gang-molded with his teammate Crumble, sharing the same plastic colors.
He was only available in a four-pack with his teammates Crumble, Groundpounder, and Takedown.
In Takara's markets, the Team was released as the "Build Patrol Team" in the Zone portion of Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers toyline. They are physically identical to their Hasbro counterparts.

Generations

"Groundbuster" does not know the difference between right and wrong!
  • Autobot Tailgate & Groundbuster (Legends Class, 2014)
  • Series / Number: 02 / #008
  • Known designers: Joe Kyde (Hasbro)
Part of the sixth wave of 2012-onwards Generations Legends Class toys, Thrilling 30 "Autobot Tailgate" comes with "Groundbuster" (name changed due to trademark unavailability). He transforms into a robot, a bomb disposal skid loader,[2][3] and an extended claw for Tailgate to wield via its 5 mm post, or mount onto the peg-hole on Tailgate's hood in vehicle mode.
In a nod to his original toy, he has (non-functional) wheels sculpted on his tread-arms.
This mold was redecoed into Legends Groundshaker and Timelines Shakar.

Notes

  • "Groundpounder" was also considered as a trademark-friendly name for the Thrilling 30 incarnation of Neutro before Hasbro settled on "Groundbuster".[4] The 2015 Robots in Disguise Decepticon Groundpounder also suffers from this disconnect, being named "Groundpounder" in fiction and "Groundbuster" for his toy.

Foreign names

  • Japanese: Neutro (ニュートロ Nyūtoro)
  • Italian: Neutron
