Faced with the problem of controlling a large number of Vehicon drones, Megatron took three of the sparks he'd collected and placed them in drone bodies to create Tankor, Thrust and Jetstorm to command his armies. Fires of the Past The Maximals were able to temporarily sway Tankor from Megatron's cause. Mercenary Pursuits As time went on, the Maximals began to suspect that the generals were more than meets the eye and Rattrap hacked into Tankor's memories, discovering that he had once been Rhinox. Revelations Part II: Descent Rhinox took control, though he rejected Optimus Primal in favor of continuing to pretend to be Tankor so he could plot against Megatron. Revelations Part III: Apocalypse
While Tankor continued to manipulate both sides, Blackarachnia used organic goop from Cybertron's organic core on Thrust and Jetstorm, temporarily bringing out their original identities as Waspinator and Silverbolt respectively. The Catalyst Tankor made his move on Optimus and Megatron, only to discover that the latter had installed safeguards in his system. The energies unleashed by the Plasma Energy Chamber and Key to Vector Sigma resulted in Tankor's destruction and the apparent death of Megatron. End of the Line

Despite the loss of Megatron, Thrust and Jetstorm refused to join the Maximals Fallout though they found themselves being thrust together on occasion. Savage Noble Determined to get Silverbolt back, Blackarachnia cornered Jetstorm and used a combination of a spark extractor/DNA scanner and a pool of goo to reformat him. With Silverbolt reborn as a technorganic, Jetstorm's career as a Vehicon General was effectively ended. In Darkest Knight
Thrust continued solo but had little luck, so Megatron added the two new generals Obsidian and Strika. The new generals had some success tricking the Maximals. Sparkwar Pt. I: The Strike Following Megatron's disappearance, Obsidian and Strika opted to join the Maximals, much to Thrust's disgust. This lasted only until Megatron returned. Spark of Darkness They took part in the assault on the Grand Mal. Endgame Pt. I: The Downward Spiral They moved in, however Cheetor used the ship's anti-gravity generators to send Obsidian and Strika into orbit before removing Thrust's spark with a spark extractor. Endgame Pt. II: When Legends Fall Following the Great Transformation, Waspinator was reborn as a tiny technorganic wasp. Endgame Pt. III: Seeds of the Future

Beast Wars: Uprising

During the Vehicon Apocalypse, Galvatron witnessed how the head of the Darksyders managed to find a means of controlling the Vehicons. Inspired, Galvatron set out to capture some drones of his own. Derailment
He succeeded in capturing three; a tank drone, a jet drone and a cycle drone. Over the following deca-cycle, he rebuilt and modified them. However, Galvatron was determined not to have mere puppets that could be controlled by someone else. So once his work was done he implanted them with three sparks he just happened to have lying about, bringing Tankor, Thrustor, and Jetstorm to life. The Inexorable March
Notes
- Some Vehicon Generals can be distinguished from the drones they control by the yellow markings on their bodies.
