The launcher features a jointed 5mm handle to allow it to pivot, and can mount underneath the helicopter cockpit. He has two 5 mm ports on his back, the sword hilt has an additional post, and the launcher has additional ports at the top and bottom. There are reports that the second 5 mm port on his back is incorrectly sized and the rotor of his helicopter mode can't be correctly plugged into it the way the picture shows. Springer's head is also ''extremely'' prone to detaching when being switched between robot and vehicle mode.

:Sandstorm's panels align better than on Springer, especially in his [[Alternate mode|car mode]]. One notable and curious change involves the little dents inside the side-chest pieces: initially intended to hold the blade of the sword in his car mode, Springer's ones weren't able to do the job perfectly because of the asymmetrical shape of the sword, making it unable to fit inside the symmetrical dents. Sandstorm's side-chest dents, on the other hand have been modified to be asymmetrical, allowing the blade of Springer's sword to fit in better. drafting Springer_(G1)/toys#Voyager and Sandstorm_(G1)#Voyager because Nick Roche dropped designer insight two years ago and no one noticed

Thrilling 30

There we go!
  • Autobot Springer (Voyager Class, 2013)
  • Series / Number: 02 / 001
  • Accessories: dual missile launcher, two missiles, rotor blades/sword
  • Known designers: Joe Kyde (Hasbro)
Part of the third wave of 2012-2013 Generations Voyager Class toys, Thrilling 30 "Autobot Springer" is a Triple Changer, transforming into both an armored car and a helicopter, and is a redeco and heavy retool of Voyager Sandstorm. Yup, you read that right. Sandstorm was designed first, then Hasbro turned him into Springer based on Nick Roche's design of the character from Last Stand of the Wreckers,[1] and then released him a wave before Sandstorm released.
REWRITE THIS PART, NEEDS CLOUD RODIMUS
His helicopter rotors detach to transform into a sword that is held by his hands via 5 mm post, and can store underneath his car mode or on his back in robot mode. He also comes with a dual missile launcher that fires its two missiles in succession via a two-step pressure launch. Springer's head is also extremely prone to detaching when being switched between robot and vehicle mode.
This mold served as the basis of the non-toy Beast Wars: Uprising incarnations of Dynobot and Grimlock.

Generations

Now made of delicious cheese.
  • Sandstorm (Voyager, 2013)
  • Series / Number: 02 / 003
  • Accessories: rifle, missile
  • Known designers: Joe Kyde (Hasbro), Nick Roche (concept artist)
Part of the fourth wave of 2012-2013 Generations Voyager Class toys, Thrilling 30 Sandstorm is a Triple Changer, transforming into a robot, VTOL aircraft, and dune buggy. He comes with a blaster which can fire its missile via pressure-launch, peg via 5mm post onto his hands and back, and mount underneath his aircraft nose.
REWRITE THIS PART, context of Sandstorm's panels aligning better than on springer should be brought over to springer's page since he's the retool not the original
Sandstorm's panels align better than on Springer, especially in his car mode. This is, nevertheless, a pointless difference, as Sandstorm doesn't come with his own heli-sword and doesn't have the same kneecaps as Springer that allow the handle of Springer's sword to be fitted in.
The original version of this mold was also used to make Cloud Hot Rodimus and it was retooled into BotCon 2015 Battletrap. It also served as the basis of the non-toy Beast Wars: Uprising incarnations of Dynobot and Grimlock.
END PART THAT NEEDS REWRITING
Contrary to popular belief, Sandstorm is not a redeco and heavy retool of Voyager Springer, but instead was designed first by Nick Roche, then Hasbro retooled Sandstorm into Springer.[1]
