Hot Rodimus is an Autobot from the Cloud continuity.
Not that kind of knight. Or that one. Or that one. As far as we can tell he just kind of has a sword, honestly.

Hot Rodimus (ホットロディマス Hotto Rodimasu) is a young knight among the Autobots, the space-time guardians who reside in Cloud World's Metropolis. He's a powerful warrior with a strong sense of justice, but has a rather brash and immature attitude because of his youth. When a close friend of his was injured by Shockwave, the righteous anger burning within Hot Rodimus awakened the power of SARA, granting him a second alternate mode in the form of a helicopter.

Hot Rodimus was dispatched by Wheeljack to deal with an energy surge at the 24BW Spacetime. Uprising Returning after the appointed time, Hot Rodimus explained to Optimus that a space-time disturbance delayed his return with the energy for SARA. As they spoke, the Decepticon uprising began with a devastating level of destruction levelled against Metropolis. Though overcome with emotion, Hot Rodimus was pacified by Optimus, who dispatched him to prepare their district's defenses. Raid

The Autobots fought back against the Decepticon invaders, but little did they suspect that the destruction being wrought was little nothing more than a distractio. While the bulk of their forces had been drawn away from their base of operations, a group of Decepticons forced their way in and abducted SARA before returning to the Underground. When the Autobots reconvened to discuss their next course of action, Hot Rodimus bemoaned their foolishness and inability to see through the Decepticons' ruse. The Autobots began to lose hope when it became clear that they would have to venture into the vast, dangerous, and unmapped Decepticon territory to retrieve SARA. Though Optimus, taking full blame of the situation onto himself, suggested that he venture into the Underground alone, Hot Rodimus refused to allow Optimus to go on such a dangerous venture. He declared that all the Autobots would join him. His comrades, though scared at first, agreed with Hot Rodimus's sentiment. Optimus thanked Hot Rodimus for preventing him from making another foolish decision, and then gave the order... ROLL OUT! Resolve

After zeroing in on SARA's energy signature, a decrepit old building, Hot Rodimus, Optimus Prime and Brawn headed underground. While a team headed by Jazz blitzed the Decepticons on the building's main floor, Hot Rodimus's team infiltrated its basement covertly. They reached the inner sanctum were SARA was being kept only to find that Megatron had already wired her into his own body. The Decepticon leader revealed the extent of his megalomania, declaring that he would rule all of space-time, even if it meant destroying his home dimension in the process. Though they tried to stop him, both Hot Rodimus and Brawn were shoved away effortlessly by the newly empowered Megatron. Hot Rodimus was knocked unconscious by the attack. His back-up disabled, Optimus Prime rammed Megatron, causing a disruption in SARA's energy and sending the combatants across dimensions. Leap The blowback from the dimensional anomaly left Hot Rodimus and Brawn in critical condition as the loss of SARA caused Cloud World to crumble around them. Rampage

  • Hot Rodimus (2014)
Part of the third wave of TakaraTomy's Cloud line, Hot Rodimus is a redeco of Generations: Thrilling 30 Voyager Class Autobot Springer, transforming into both a Cybertronian armored car and a helicopter. Just as with his mold predecessor, getting his various panels to line up properly in vehicle modes can be very difficult.
Hot Rodimus's helicopter rotors detach to transform into a sword that is held by his hands via 5 mm post, and can store underneath his car mode. He also comes with a dual missile launcher that fires its two missiles in succession via a two-step pressure launch. The launcher features a jointed 5 mm handle to allow it to pivot, and can mount underneath the helicopter cockpit. He has two 5 mm ports on his back to store his weapons in robot mode: the sword hilt has an additional post, and the launcher has additional ports at the top and bottom.
Like all of the Autobots in this line, he was sold exclusively through TakaraTomy Mall.
This mold served as the model for the non-toy Beast Wars: Uprising incarnations of Dynobot and Grimlock.

  • Hot Rodimus, unlike other Cloud characters, retains his archetype's original Japanese name. This can be chalked either up to "Hot Rod" being too generic a term for a name, or it not clearing trademark.
